Assistant Vice President, Ports and Marine Engineering

Rose Cay Maritime is in search of Chief Engineers to add to our growing team. We are looking for experienced Chief Engineers for our Gulf and Northeast Fleets! Responsibilities

  • Head of the Engineering Department (reports to the Master).
  • Ensures vessel is operated in accordance with vessel COI (if applicable) and stability letter; and all crew fully implement and operate the vessel in compliance with the Company CLASSIFICATION SOCIETY approved TSMS.
  • Reports all deficiencies to equipment or the vessel, observations of safety hazards and TSMS non-conformities to the OICNW or Master.
  • Ensures maintenance and inspections required by the PM or the Master are completed. Maintain records of maintenance and inspections in the PM. Report any instance an inspection or maintenance activity cannot be completed to Master.
  • Ensures that the Assistant Engineer is adequately familiarized to perform his duties.
  • Ensures that records of maintenance are maintained within the PM.
  • Report machinery deficiencies and repair requests to the Master and Marine Superintendent.
  • Request engine room spares/stores.
  • Inventories spare parts, recording same on the Major Spare Parts Inventory Form and in the PM.
  • Identifies and remedies (if possible) defects in the vessel’s machinery/systems.
  • Designated Person in Charge (PIC) for fuel transfers and bunkering.
  • Communicates the status of machinery and systems prior to taking leave.
