About The Role The Drayage Sales Broker is a revenue-driving role responsible for converting active opportunities into confirmed delivery orders for our drayage division, with a focus on container transportation from the ports of New York and New Jersey. This position owns deals from qualified opportunity through close, ensuring pricing, service scope, and timelines are aligned to secure customer commitments.

We are seeking a highly motivated closer with deep drayage brokerage experience, strong commercial instincts, and the ability to move customers from interest to execution. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of closing drayage business, navigating complex import/export requirements, and working closely with ocean carriers, freight forwarders, and beneficial cargo owners to finalize bookings.

How You Will Make a Difference

  • Close drayage delivery orders and consistently meet or exceed revenue targets
  • Take ownership of qualified opportunities and drive them through pricing approval, negotiation, and booking confirmation
  • Proactively follow up with customers to overcome objections, align on service details, and secure commitments
  • Structure and negotiate pricing, accessorials, and service terms to finalize profitable deals
  • Partner with operations and carrier contacts to ensure feasibility and smooth execution post-close
  • Strengthen long-term customer relationships that lead to repeat business and expanded service adoption (transloading, Haz-mat warehousing, etc.)

Qualifications That Are Important To Us

  • 5 years of experience in Import/Export logistics sales with a strong focus securing delivery orders
  • Proven ability to negotiate and finalize transportation agreements
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with confidence in customer-facing negotiations
  • Highly organized and detailed-oriented with the ability to manage multiple active deals
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel applications
  • Effective at developing solid inter-company relationships
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment
