Dive Supervisor- Ports & Maritime – Engineer Dive Group

As a Ports & Maritime Dive Supervisor, you’ll be part of the engineer dive group and have the chance to work with our global team on asset evaluation projects worldwide. You’ll be a vital member of our team conducting above and underwater structural assessments, including visual and tactile inspection, non-destructive and partially destructive testing, and marine rehabilitation. You’ll also learn and develop skills in UAS (Unmanned Aireal Systems, or Drones), ROVs(Underwater remotely operated vehicles), SONAR systems, and LIDAR systems operation.

As soon as you start this position, you’ll be engaged in Jacobs’ engineer dive teams utilizing surface-supplied diving and commercial SCUBA equipment to conduct underwater inspections of waterfront structures across the globe.

Structural EIT- Ports & Maritime

As a Ports & Maritime Engineer, you’ll have the chance to work with our global multi-disciplinary team of engineers on ports and maritime projects worldwide. You’ll be involved as part of the team with design, analysis, and delivery of projects ranging from local waterfront projects to large scale international port developments.

We’ll provide you the challenge of working on coordination and design of structural rehabilitation and retrofit projects as well as new marine structures. Also, you’ll have the opportunity to serve as a full-time or part-time resident engineer on infrastructure development projects throughout the New York City metropolitan area. During your time with us, you will lead or assist in the preparation of structural calculations/designs, contract drawings and specifications, cost estimates, construction schedules, engineering reports, and construction/field reports. Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering analysis and design with a focus on ports and waterfront infrastructure of recreational, commercial, and industrial facilities
  • Develop plans, specifications, and construction documents
  • Develop technical reports and provide senior level review of technical work products
  • Participate in site visit of short duration to project sites in the U.S.
  • Preparation of proposals, cost proposals and scopes of work
The Ideal Candidate Will Have The Following
  • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering
  • New York and New Jersey PE license or other relevant licenses
  • Successful history for completing marine structures projects
  • Client relationships with Ports and Agencies in North America
  • Demonstrated technical and analytical skills in Marine Structures
  • Ability to develop plans and specifications for construction projects
  • Ability to interface and communicate with clients verbally and in written form
  • Ability to travel to other cities to interface with clients and other teams on projects as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with a team who may not reside in the same office or time zone.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint to produce project related documents
  • Knowledge of marine structures such as foundation piling, bulkheads, marina floats, piers, and boat ramps
  • Knowledge of modeling software such as SAP2000 and LPILE
  • Experience in condition assessment of port and maritime facilities
  • Must have, or be able to obtain a TWIC
  • Ability to work on multiple project tasks while meeting schedule and quality requirements

The expected salary for this position is $137,000 – $167,000. Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.
