As the Underwriting Director for the Ocean Marine Northeast market, you will lead and direct an underwriting group while being accountable for business results through overall management, profitability, and business development of a book of business. In conjunction with senior management, you will work within the highest limits of authority, have regional, industry segment or company-wide scope of responsibility.
This position provides advanced offshore-focused technical assistance for the collection, identification, compiling, and analysis of environmental data concerning a variety of marine, coastal, and biological systems. The role supports multi-site/phase environmental work, offshore permitting programs, and environmental compliance during in-water construction. Responsibilities include developing processes that protect water quality, marine habitats, sensitive species, and coastal resources while ensuring offshore construction activities meet all regulatory and project-specific environmental requirements. The position ensures that documentation accurately reflects offshore environmental performance, impact assessments, and long-term ecological considerations. You will support project leadership with environmental impact evaluation, mitigation strategy development, permitting, restoration activities, and high-quality deliverables that meet or exceed industry standards.

We are seeking a Marine / Coastal Engineer with 5-10 years of professional experience to support a diverse portfolio of environmental, engineering, and construction management projects throughout the New York City metropolitan area. The successful candidate will work on complex waterfront, coastal resiliency, and marine infrastructure projects, collaborating closely with environmental specialists, engineers, and construction management professionals.
The Business Process Specialist supports APM Terminal Elizabeth’s modernization program by designing, documenting, and validating future-state processes that enable operational excellence. Acting as a key link between strategy and execution, this role ensures that process mapping, governance, and change impact assessments are delivered accurately and on time. The position is critical for embedding process discipline and creating a robust Business Process Manual that guides the organization through transformation.
The position will be responsible for facilitating a close working relationship and flow of communication with other departments in JFK, across the US and abroad. In addition, he/she is responsible for driving proper interaction with US CBP and other regulatory agencies, customs brokers, other vendors, customer service and at times directly with the Customer, and developing and maintaining key relationships with airlines and cargo handlers. This position will ensure all regulations/related processes are completed in accordance with the law but will also administer, compile, validate and process documentation related to importing and exporting shipments to/from the U.S between BGS/the Company and its customers. This position will be the primary day to day leader of our shipping team and will be responsible for their development, production and the level of service provided.
