In this role, you will play a critical role in planning, validating, and executing vessel berthing and dockside operations for Sail4th 250. This position requires close coordination with internal teams, vessel representatives, and external partners to ensure seamless maritime operations across all event locations.
The primary duties of the New York/New Jersey Maritime Market Sector Lead include:
- Plan, direct and monitor multi-discipline projects related to heavy industrial seaport, private cargo and passenger terminals and other waterfront infrastructure.
- Demonstrate extensive experience in local maritime and waterfront infrastructure projects.
- Serve as liaison with local maritime terminal owners and operators in the development and delivery of their respective programs.
- Provide oversight and coordination of several projects concurrently.
- Contribute to design and production efforts for design development and contract document work in conjunction with Project Managers, appropriate technical professionals and other disciplines.
- Ensure project deliverables and supporting documentation are complete, understandable, and conform to applicable industry standards relative to their intended purpose, including client and HDR requirements.
- Participate in business class strategic planning, budgeting and plan implementation.
- Collaborate on business class efforts with area operations, marketing and project management.
- Oversee and/or serve as a lead technical or problem-solving role in maritime projects.
- Being comfortable being viewed as a leader on these types of projects to participate in business class practice and professional discipline groups, project teams, and activities to continuously improve standards and best practices and implement effective quality assurance and quality control reviews.
- Serve in a capacity of managing, supporting or leading major pursuits.
- Responsible for implementing QA/QC procedures and completing reviews of complex projects.
- Ensure that emerging technologies are being implemented and that HDR is continually advancing Maritime and Waterfront Infrastructure design capabilities.
The Waterfront Staff Assistant will provide the office support necessary to continue the growth and enhancement of SUNY Maritime College’s Waterfront activities and Community Programs. The Waterfront Staff Assistant will directly support the four full-time Waterfront staff and assist sailing and rowing coaches as well as Community Programs staff

Underwrite new and renewal business in a profitable manner, according to authority level, and established guidelines which are in compliance with the company’s underwriting philosophy. Responsible for addressing career and training needs on an individual basis. Communicate effectively and ensure team has been adequately updated on matters relating to workflow or procedural changes. Oversee the overall quality of the unit’s performance and measures the underwriting team expertise through periodic audits. Reviews unusual risks. Based on complexity, determines what additional research is required. Prepares preliminary appraisal of risk in excess of delegated authority. Consults with Manager or PLL on course of action.
This position will provide support and assistance to the overall underwriting function through customer service, processing of various underwriting transactions, data research, and analysis.
This position will also partner with their assigned underwriters to help develop and service a profitable portfolio of new and renewal business while adhering to underwriting standards and guidelines.
Communication with the designated broker representative to take necessary actions to meet service objectives around new business, renewals, and endorsement activity.
